The Story Behind Brave
More than twenty years ago, God placed something in my heart that I never imagined for myself: “You will write children’s books.”
I didn’t know what those books would look like. I didn’t know the characters, the stories, or how that promise would unfold. But years later, Brave the Honeybee was born.
Even her name carries a piece of my own story. Marsha means “brave,” and Milisa means “honeybee.” And so, Brave the Honeybee became more than a character, she became part of a calling to speak faith, courage, and purpose into the hearts of children.
Through Brave’s adventures, children will encounter everyday moments they understand—being afraid, having to wait, facing change, learning kindness, discovering friendship, and finding courage when they don’t quite feel brave.
But beneath every adventure is a greater truth:
Brave isn’t brave because she is never afraid.
She is brave because she is learning who God created her to be—and that He is always with her.
That is the heart of Brave’s world: helping children grow in faith, embrace courage, and confidently walk in their God-given purpose—one story at a time.

Meet the Author
Marsha M.A. Hill
Hi, I’m Marsha, a follower of Jesus Christ, writer, entrepreneur, and passionate teacher of God’s Word. I love bringing ideas to life and creating stories that help children discover their true identity in God from an early age. My desire in writing is to help young hearts grow in faith, embrace courage, and confidently walk in their God-given purpose.
My writing draws from my background in teaching and ministry. Through gentle, meaningful stories, I want children to know they are deeply loved, never alone, and created with intention.
I believe stories can plant seeds of courage, comfort, and truth in a child’s heart. My prayer is that as you read Brave’s stories with the children in your life, you’ll find simple moments to talk about fear, faith, courage, and who God created them to be—and help those truths take root in their hearts.
